North Shore Kitchens refers kitchen renovation enquiries. We do not ourselves perform building, cabinetmaking, stone fabrication, plumbing, gasfitting, electrical or asbestos work.
The builder
Renovation work is carried out in partnership with Coastal Renovation Group, a licensed NSW builder. Licence and insurance details are provided on request.
The builder prepares the quote, enters the contract with you, carries out and is responsible for the work, and provides any warranties that apply. Where home building compensation cover is legally required, it is arranged by the builder before a deposit is requested.
Please check the licence yourself on the NSW Fair Trading register and ask to see a current certificate of insurance before work begins.
Specialist trades
Plumbing, gasfitting and electrical work in NSW must be done by appropriately licensed tradespeople. Structural changes may require an engineer's design. We make no representation about any person's qualifications beyond what the builder provides to you on request.
Asbestos
Asbestos removal is licensed work in NSW, separate from building. Kitchens in homes and units built or renovated before about 1990 can contain asbestos in splashback sheeting, wall linings and floor coverings. Suspect materials should be tested before demolition and any asbestos removed by a licensed asbestos removalist. A builder's licence does not authorise asbestos removal.
Engineered stone
The installation of new engineered stone benchtops has been prohibited in Australia since 1 July 2024. References on this site to benchtop materials reflect that prohibition.
Approvals
Council, heritage and strata approvals are decided by the relevant council or owners corporation, not by us or the builder. No approval outcome or timeframe is guaranteed.
